GeraVita exists because a city with the highest proportion of elderly residents in India had no service where a geriatric specialist personally designs and supervises every care plan. We built that service.
Kolkata carries the highest share of residents aged 60 and above of any major Indian city. Many of their adult children live elsewhere — Bengaluru, the Gulf, the UK, North America — and can only watch from a distance while a parent's health quietly changes.
The options available were an attendant who provides presence but no medical judgement, a hospital visit that treats one organ system at a time and adds a medication without anyone subtracting one, or a care-coordination platform that books whichever doctor happens to be free. None of them puts one qualified specialist in charge of the whole picture.
GeraVita was founded to close that gap: a named geriatric specialist who holds the full clinical picture, visits on a defined schedule, manages medication as one integrated problem, and reports to the family in writing — whether that family is five kilometres away or five time zones away.
Every GeraVita patient begins with a Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment conducted personally by our Clinical Director — a structured review of physical, cognitive, functional, nutritional, social and environmental health, ending in a written care plan with a doctor-recommended review frequency.
From there, continuing care is delivered through a supervised structure: a geriatric specialist owns every clinical decision and reviews every case, home visits and medication management are delivered against that written plan, and a care manager keeps the family informed between visits. For families managing care from another city or abroad, GeraVita Connect adds a monthly video call and written report with the doctor.
